One of the reasons that I love math is that it can be used to meaningfully connect with people. I have found incredible opportunities to use math as a means of involvement and outreach, some of which I describe below. For my service activities at Oklahoma State University, see here.
During the Spring 2026 semester, I regularly volunteered at a library as a math tutor. For this role, I tutored high school students in mathematics, including geometry and algebra.
Since February of 2026, I have been serving as a mentor for the Prison Mathematics Project. For this role, I have been mentoring an inmate in number theory and calculus.Â
During the Fall 2025 semester, I participated in Twoples as a mentor. For the project, my mentee studied the proof of the Mordell-Weil theorem.
